Edinburgh 2nd most visited city in Britain

We’re coming for you London

Edinburgh once again is the 2nd most popular destination for tourists in Britain.

According to Hotels.com, Edinburgh continues to be the most attractive destination for tourists after London, as it has for the past couple years.

Topped only by London, Edinburgh beat off some of Britain’s largest cities such as Manchester, Liverpool, and Belfast.

Equally, this means that Edinburgh is the most tourist-frequented city in Scotland: Glasgow polled in 5th, Aberdeen in 9th, and Inverness in 18th.

This will come as no surprise to those who know Edinburgh well – it’s beautiful buildings, sweeping landscapes, and rich history make it a 1st-class tourist destination, arguably even more so then London.

As JK Rowling, who wrote most of the Harry Potter books in Edinburgh, said of the great city: “It is one of the most hauntingly beautiful places in the world, the history is fascinating, the men are handsome and the whisky is delicious.”
