Campus style: Statement pieces

Don’t get jealous now

It’s getting to that time of the year again, it’s cold, we’re all feeling lazy, and there’s no denying it, we would all much rather be slothing away in our beds, rather than strutting the streets of Edinburgh in our latest buys.

Which is why it’s so much more impressive when we someone strolling into a lecture looking like they’ve just come off a movie set, with their bold statement items.

Elinor Kirchwey, 2nd year, Philosophy

There’s no denying that Elinor’s coat is on point. Elinor stole this coat from her best friend, who got it from her mother. So sadly none of us will be able to steal this look.

Laura Anderson, 1st year, Business and Accounting

Laura’s outfit is on point from head to toe, but in particular her jazzy black bag. Good news for all of us, its a recent purchase from Urban Outfitters (also found in Asos).

Siyan Hudda, 1st year, International Business

Who doesn’t love Siyan’s three layer jacket look? In particular the bottom layer, which adds a splash of colour. Siyan got all three of her snazzy jackets from her rather hip mother, an inspiration to us all.

Robert Weir, 1st year, Law

Rob stood out with his statement winter coat, which is from Topman (don’t be snobby now). Love the pose as well, so sassy.

Sophie Whitehead, 2nd year, English Lit

Sophie had some cute dungarees on from Topshop and paired them with her lovely black coat from Whistle. The dark photo doesn’t do her justice.

Laura Bennett, 3rd year, English and History of Art

Laura’s look managed to combine cute and chic all into one. I loved her coat, which was from a vintage store in Paris, how fancy.

Angus Edwards, 4th year, Economics

Angus’s look was simple but sweet, with a lovely Levi jacket to put the cherry on top of the cake.

Harriet Kean, 4th year, English Literature

Harriet’s outfit made her look classy but cool. Adored her statement striped trousers, which were from Zara.

Charlotte Turner, 3rd year, Sociology and Politics

This look is so sassy, with all black everything, she also looks extremely sleek, and if you look up close you’ll notice that Charlotte is actually wearing a funky jumpsuit which is from Zara.

Niall Sherman, 3rd year, Classical studies

Niall added a slight splash to his all black look, with his red socks, which led me to look at his shoes, I was a big fan, Doc Martin of course.

Georgie Rodgers, 1st year, History

We’ve all seen this dungaree/stripy top combo around campus a lot recently, and we can’t get enough of it, Georgie’s dungarees can be found in Urban Outfitters.

Gus Brown, 1st year, English Language and Literature

Gus’ outfit has got that ‘I don’t try, it’s natural’ look about it, which is backed by the fact that he got his shirt in Chile. You go Glen Coco.
