Loveshack has confirmed plans to make a surprise return to the Durham clubbing scene after closing in August last year.

It's officially back this Saturday, 3 February 2018, with a brand new venue: Klute.

Loveshack appears to be stepping up its game, promising us three floors, two music policies, four bars, a three-tier outside terrace and Tiki bar, as well as a new sound system and lighting AND finally: the arrival of dancers and breakdancers.

The big return happens this Saturday, at Klute. The Tab spoke to Lisa Flintoff, Klute's manager, who informed us that ALL students are welcome, but no "scruffy clothes" are allowed.

Durham students dressing scruffily? Well.

Entry will be free before 10pm but it will then cost you a steep £4 after this. If you're one of the lucky ones to make the guest-list, it's also free.

The closure last year was announced via Facebook in a post, which stated: "It is with a heavy heart that we are writing to inform you that Loveshack and My House are now closed".

Yet Loveshack, we can only assume that it is with an even heavier heart that you have had to inform us of your new venue Klute, known as the worst nightclub in Europe.

Loveshack have informed us that the new "Saturday night will not affect the beloved and established mid-week and student weekly events which will remain in place".

Plus the drinks offers look really quite tasteful including "double vodka and Redbull – £4.50 all night! Plus, the Loveshack cocktail menu will now be available and include best sellers ‘skittles’, ‘woo woo’ cocktails, plus more"!

As Loveshack said themselves "miracles do happen". Who can deny that now that Loveshack has found Klute?
