‘Aroused’ and ‘overexcited’: Saucy cycle cums to Cambridge
It’s ‘bare as you dare’
Naked racers are about to take to Cambridge’s streets in the height of June, as part of the World Naked Bike Race.
But in a previous leg, police had to remove one naughty participant who couldn’t contain his excitement.
One bemused onlooker described the incident: “Everyone was taking their clothes off to get ready for the ride. I heard gasps and I turned around – it was a horrible sight.
“It’s fair to say he was overexcited and got aroused. It looked like he was enjoying the event a bit too much.”
But organiser Paul Smith said cyclists can “wear what you want: it’s bare as you dare.”
On Saturday 20th June (at the end of ‘May’ Week), Cambridge’s collective libido will be tested for the first time. Riders will depart from Parkers Piece at 3pm and follow a seven-mile route around the city.
The captain of the Cambridge University Cycling Club, David Hewett revealed: “If it catches on we’ll have to consider shaving more than just our legs in the interests of aerodynamics and marginal gains.
“We’d urge any riders whose chains hang low to take extra care whilst on the bike and ask them to consider tying it in a bow to be on the safe side.”
