The Sub Pop label has always managed to come up with the goods. Whether you cite Nirvana’s album ‘Bleach’, The Shins’ ‘Wincing the Night Away’ or even The Flight of the Conchords self-titled debut, they’ve managed to make money AND keep their cool. Loney, Dear (the name under which Swedish muso Emil Svanangen does his thang) is another of Sub Pop’s wee gems. Comparisons might be made to labelmates The Postal Service, but Loney, Dear seems to write with a more accomplished melodic turn of phrase. Enjoy.
