A new report has revealed that Bristol has climbed to second place in the ‘Graduate Market in 2019 Report’, rising two places since last year.

Whilst Bristol was awarded second place, Birmingham, Warwick and UCL took third, fourth and fifth place respectively.

The report studies graduate vacancies, starting salaries and undergraduate work experience at the UK’s top one hundred employers.

Director of the Careers Service at the University of Bristol, Stuart Johnson, told the University's news page: "We’re thrilled to be ranked second in this latest report – the University’s highest ranking to-date.

"Bristol attracts some of the best students and produces some of the most employable graduates, something that as an institution and as a Careers Service we are tremendously proud of."

A breakdown of the 10 universities targeted by the largest number of top employers in 2018/9 is as follows:

7. Nottingham

8. Durham

9. Leeds

10. Oxford
