Meet Nina and Tara: The siblings after the same men in the new season of Love Is Blind

For the first time ever on Love Is Blind, a set of siblings is entering the pods together. At first, this sounds like it could be the messiest thing in reality TV history, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see how it goes.

Season seven of our favourite chaos dating show has just dropped on Netflix, and it brings a bunch of singles from Washington, DC together to date in the pods. Among those are Nina and Tara – who are sisters.

So, before you see them date in the pods and what the rollercoaster that is Love Is Blind has in store for them, here’s everything you need to know about new cast members, Nina and Tara.

Nina and Tara Zafar are the first ever siblings to go on Love Is Blind, which is probably for a fair reason, but we’ll have to see how it goes for them. The sisters are heading into the pods to date alongside each other, and will live in the female living quarters as they do so, together.

The sisters grew up in Boston, and told New York Post they didn’t tell the men they dated on the show that their sister was there too, at first. “We kind of decided that we wouldn’t have a fair shot if we went in and immediately told everyone that we were siblings because then obviously they’d get weirded out and choose one of us over the other,” Nina told the publication. “We didn’t disclose it at the beginning, but at some point, we had to.”

And yes – things did get awkward and they started to like the same people. Nina said: “In the beginning, there were a couple of guys that matched on both of our lists. But it actually did sort itself out pretty quickly.” Tara added: “Our top five was almost the same, maybe a little different order and maybe one less person. And then a day and a half later, it was completely different.”

Nina is 32 and works as a journalist. Ahead of Love Is Blind, she said: “If someone doesn’t fit in seamlessly with them, then it’s not going to work. That’s it.”

Before Love Is Blind, Nina was with her college sweetheart for over eight years, but they broke off their engagement in 2022. For the past year, Nina has been healing from the heartbreak of ending the relationship with her ex-fiancé.

“I’m most proud of the way that I handled that breakup,” she said. “I’ve done a lot of work on myself and now I’m killing it in every aspect. I feel amazing.”  She added that right now, “I want someone that remembers the little things that I like or I don’t like and considers my feelings.”

Tara is 29 and is a senior marketing manager

Younger sister Tara is 29 and a senior marketing manager. Her Love Is Blind bio reads: “From getting asked out by her server during a meal to almost moving to Germany for her ex-boyfriend, this social butterfly is open to all connections, no matter where they come from. Her dating experience, however, hasn’t exactly given her confidence in men.”

Tara said: “My past relationships have always been with someone who’s insecure with himself and not in the right place in their life. I’m always open to conversation — no matter how hard. But my worst habit is needing to have the last word.” Tara’s most recent relationship lasted just over two years, and ended in 2022.

Yes, their parents have spoken out about the siblings appearing on Love Is Blind together

Speaking to New York Post, the girls revealed how their parents reacted to finding out they were both going on the same reality dating show, at the same time.

Tara said: “Our mom was actually a lot more supportive than I thought she was going to be. She was like, ‘Great idea. Let’s do it.’” Nina added: “Dad’s only concern was, ‘Is it a make out show? Is it a bikini show?’”

By the looks of their Instagrams, Love Is Blind aside, the siblings are very close

If going on Love Is Blind together isn’t enough to prove they’re close, a look on Nina and Tara’s Instagram accounts says it all. The girls are constantly sharing cute selfies together, of them on holiday, out for dinner or hanging out with shared friends. Honestly, love that for them!
