Kate Middleton car picture

Um, there’s a wild theory yesterday’s car picture of Kate Middleton is not a new image after all

These conspiracy theories keep getting weirder

The drama surrounding the whereabouts of Kate Middleton has just got more bizarre and more frenzied since Sunday, when an edited picture of the Princess of Wales and her children was pulled by picture agencies after they weren’t satisfied with its authenticity. The future queen then confessed to editing it, uttering the immortal words “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.” Later in the day, a picture hit the press of Kate Middleton and Prince William in the car – but a new conspiracy theory argues that this picture is also edited and actually was taken on Christmas Day when the Princess was last seen publicly (beyond an unauthorised, grainy, TMZ image of her in the car with her mother with sunglasses on.)

These theories, as ludicrous as they seem, suggest that public distrust is high for the Royals. Yesterday, the statement regarding the Mother’s Day picture implied that only minor edits were made to it but the fact it has lead to wilder theories still circulating online suggests public trust is at a low.

The outfits from Christmas Day raised eyebrows

A picture was released yesterday taken by Bruce Bennett, which is said to be the first picture of Kate Middleton and Prince William since the scandal of the photo editing. But according to this theory on Twitter/X, which now has millions of views, the picture could be from Christmas Day. The theory says “They used a Christmas Day photo. They erased her earring, her hat brim can clearly be seen, as can the top be seen obscuring the rectangle in the interior of the car. Then they added some noise to make it harder to discern the edits.” It has visuals to back it up.

Whilst it’s really hard to tell due to yesterday’s picture of Kate being in such low grainy quality and with her looking away from camera, it does appear the two are wearing the same outfit as Christmas Day.

Another part of the Kate Middleton car picture conspiracy theory says the bricks are another bizarre telltale sign the picture is off – with the reflection of the bricks inside the car not matching the way they look on the outside.

Kensington Palace stated in regard to the Mother’s Day picture that it will not be releasing the unedited version. Efforts to quell speculation about Kate Middleton and her health or whereabouts have seemingly backfired, and just fuelled more debate and unrest on the wilder side of conspiracy theorist social media.

The Tab has contacted Kensington Palace for comment.
