Alyssa says she wishes Evelyn and Duncan told her about their relationship first

Married at First Sight Australia 2023 bride Alyssa Barmonde has said she wishes Duncan and Evelyn had spoken to her first about their relationship.

Evelyn and Duncan recently announced their relationship news to the public after weeks of speculation and although asking Rupert for his blessing, Alyssa found out along with everyone else.

Speaking with Cosmopolitan, Alyssa was asked about her thoughts on the relationship to which she responded: “I wish I had heard it from either of them first, but I haven’t heard a peep since filming ended. I had texted Evelyn after the show to see how she was doing, and never got a response. I do wish them the best. Everyone deserves to be happy.”

This is quite the contrast to what Duncan’s version of events. When speaking about his new relationship with Evelyn, Duncan said he had reached out to Alyssa “numerous times” but had no response from her.

Speaking on Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie, MAFS Australia groom Duncan was asked if he had spoken to Alyssa about his new relationship with Evelyn.

“I’ve reached out to Alyssa numerous times after the show and no reply,” he said. “That’s okay because she’s probably hurting and not feeling too good. All I tried to do was say that, if I could, if I could help, or if I could assist in some way I would, but no sort of communication.”
