Kanye West has reportedly hired Jason Lee as his media manager

Kanye West has apparently hired Hollywood Unlocked founder Jason Lee as his new media manager, according to The Daily Mail.

Sources say the Jeen-Yuhs star has sought someone to manage his PR and broker deals after his divorce from Kim Kardashian triggered various social media outbursts over the last month.

While fans have been urging Kanye to rein in his public image since the divorce, this particular new hire has confused people. Jason was recently caught up in his own wave of controversy after his gossip blog falsely “leaked” the Queen’s death.

Just two weeks ago (23rd February), a Hollywood Unlocked writer published an article wrongly claiming the Queen had been “found dead” after she hadn’t shown up to the wedding of Vogue’s Edward Enninful. There was no evidence to suggest she was going to attend anyway.

After officials confirmed this wasn’t the case, Jason doubled down on his blog’s bold claims. “We don’t post lies and I always stand by my sources,” he said. “Waiting for an official statement from the palace.”

Two days later, he (sort of) apologised, posting a fact check and amendment of the original article.

Meanwhile, Kanye’s post-and-delete presence on Instagram seems to be slowing down a little. After his divorce from Kim Kardashian was finalised, he published two self-penned poems to his grid: Divorce and Death.

Speaking on Kanye’s decision to hire Jason, the source said: “From the outside it seems totally strange to take him on, especially after what happened with the Queen. But (Kanye) wants to be surrounded by people who know how the media game works and reckons he shares a vision with Jason.”

The pair have publicly been friends for a while, as Kanye has been pictured with Jason multiple times.
