These are the top 10 Friends episodes ever, according to IMDb

Quite shocked about number one tbh

10 years of Friends resulted in 235 incredible episodes. Everyone has their favourites – the ones that make them laugh, the ones that make them cry and the ones that make you wonder how a bunch of people in their 20s have such nice apartments, but how the hell do you decide which is actually the best Friends episode ever?

There’s a lot to consider before making that choice such as the plots, jokes and costumes. But thankfully we don’t have to sit there and go through every episode to decide the best 10.

IMDb has ranked every single episode of Friends with user votes to decide the best episode. All 235 episodes scored at least seven out of 10, so it’s a tough competition.

However the top 10 is here and they all score above nine out of 10. There’s some classic episodes including two weddings, many babies and of course the moment when Monica put the turkey on her head.

These are the top 10 best Friends episodes ever according to IMDb:

10. The One With Monica and Chandler’s Wedding: Part 2

IMDb score: 9.2

The official synopsis of the episode is: “Ross tries to find Chandler with Phoebe’s help. Meanwhile Rachel tries to hinder Monica.”

Kicking off the top 10 is the second half of Monica and Chandler’s wedding, which is actually technically when they get married and the reception episode starts in the next season.

In the episode we see more of the run up towards Monica and Chandler’s big day. However Chandler panics and runs away, Phoebe discovers a positive pregnancy test and Joey continues getting spit on by Gary Oldman.

It’s a chaotic yet heartwarming episode which is probably why it’s ended up in the top 10.

9. The One With All The Thanksgivings

IMDb score: 9.2

The official synopsis of the episode is: “The gang remember and share with each other their worst Thanksgivings.”

The Friends Thanksgiving episodes were always some of the best episodes and this one in season five is no exception.

It’s one of the most iconic episodes thanks to Monica putting a raw turkey on her head and dancing to apologise to Chandler. It also features a young Rachel, Monica, Ross and Chandler and of course Phoebe in a war flashback with blood spouting out her arm. Quality television.

8. The One With Ross’s Wedding: Part 2

IMDb score: 9.2

The official synopsis of the episode is: “Phoebe tries to warn the gang that Rachel is coming to London to tell Ross she still loves him. Ross and Emily’s parents get into an argument over the bill for the wedding. Monica and Chandler sleep together. The wedding ends with a gaffe.”

Clearly the IMDb voters only like the second half of Geller weddings. In fairness this is a very dramatic episode that sees Rachel fly to London to tell Ross she loves him.

This episode truly deserves to be in the top 10 for the scene in which Monica and Chandler actually get together. Friends would never be the same after that moment and I’m so happy it’s being given the respect it deserves.

7. The One With The Rumour

IMDb score: 9.3

The official synopsis of the episode is: “Monica invites Will, an old school friend of her and Ross over for Thanksgiving dinner, unaware he isn’t too fond of Rachel.”

Thanksgiving and Brad Pitt. Could this BE any greater?

This episode sees a pregnant Rachel reunite with Will aka Brad Pitt aka Jennifer Aniston’s actual husband at the time. It’s chaotic, full of juicy secrets and those yams always look so delicious.

6. The One With The Videotape

IMDb score: 9.3

The official synopsis of the episode is: “Ross and Rachel tell everyone about the night they were together. They have two different stories of how it happened until Ross accidentally reveals that he videotaped it. Not surprisingly, everyone wants to see it.”

Another very high scoring episode is also one from season eight in which Ross and Rachel debate over who actually came onto whom.

Ngl I’m actually really surprised this one has done so well, it’s clearly just the Ross and Rachel stans fangirling over the two having a baby.

5. The One With The Proposal

IMDb score: 9.3

The official synopsis of the episode is: “Chandler continues to pretend to hate the idea of marriage, unaware Richard wants Monica back. Meanwhile, Rachel and Phoebe discuss their ‘back-up’ plans.”

If you didn’t cry watching this episode then I’m sorry but you’re not human. There was so much tension in this episode as everyone was waiting with bated breath to see if Chandler and Monica would actually get together.

It was also cute seeing Joey, Ross, Phoebe and Rachel make their backup plans because it basically predicted the future of the rest of the show.

4. The One With The Prom Video

IMDb score: 9.4

The official synopsis of the episode is: “The gang watches a home video from the night of Monica and Rachel’s prom. Joey gives Chandler a hideous bracelet.”

Of course the lobster episode made it into the top 10. This episode does also feature Joey and Chandler arguing about a bracelet, and Monica considers asking her parents for money.

But no one really cares about that because it’s the moment that Rachel and Ross finally get together.

3. The One With The Embryos

IMDb score: 9.5

The official synopsis of the episode is: “Phoebe’s uterus is examined for implantation of the embryos. Meanwhile, a seemingly harmless game between Chandler and Joey against Monica and Rachel escalates into a full blown contest where the stakes are raised higher and higher.”

This is such a classic episode that was even brought back for the recent Friends reunion. The episode features a quiz between Rachel and Monica and Joey and Chandler to compete for the girls’ apartment.

Oh and Phoebe gets impregnated too which is sweet.

2. The Last One

IMDb score: 9.7

The official synopsis of the episode is: “Phoebe races Ross to the airport in a bid to stop Rachel from leaving for Paris. Monica and Chandler pack up their apartment ahead of their move to their new house, and Joey buys Chandler a new chick and duck as a leaving present.”

Nope still not over it. This episode is too sad to go into the top 10.

1. The One Where Everybody Finds out

IMDb score: 9.7

The official synopsis of the episode is: “When Phoebe finds out about Monica and Chandler, she and Rachel attempt to get them to confess their relationship.”

So according to IMDb this episode is the best Friends episode of all time. That’s a big claim, but it’s pretty justified. It’s chaotic, funny and full of tension.

It sees Rachel and Phoebe try and get Monica and Chandler to confess to being in a relationship. Seeing Phoebe flirting with Chandler is seriously uncomfortable – thank god the writers never tried to make them a thing.

The episode also features Ross moving into Ugly Naked Guy’s apartment, which is just truly iconic.
