Shipwrecked is back for 2019: Here’s everything we know about the new series

The countdown is on!!!

| UPDATED

The time has finally come for one of E4's most iconic reality TV shows to return to our screens. Love Island is over, Celebs Go Dating isn't enough and Celebs on a Ranch hasn't convinced us – but we know we are safe with trashy TV because the ultimate show is back – it's Shipwrecked 2019.

Our lives haven't been the same since the last season in 2012, but we're ready to welcome back a bunch of 18 to 24-year-olds getting stranded on an island and being forced to fend for themselves and battle it out against each other.

Here is everything we know ahead of the new series.

The show will air on January 28th

Channel 4 confirmed the show will air on E4 and will start on January 28th. The first show will be on that night at 9pm, and then it will be on EVERY NIGHT. It will follow the Battle of the Islands format, which means return of Sharks vs Tigers, and the return of the battle for popularity and the best tribe. The necklaces are back.

The cast list

The cast list has FINALLY been released. The original nine castaways are Harry, Liv, Tom, Big T (Tula), Kalia, Emma, Hollie, Kush and Chris.

It will be set on the same Islands as the first ever Shipwrecked series

Filming took place over summer and this series it was on two small islands in the lagoon at Aitutaki. The two islands where the first ever series in 2000, and a series in 2006 were filmed are called Rapota and Moturakau.

The new presenter is Vick Hope

Capital FM presenter, and ex Strictly Come Dancing contestant Vick Hope will narrate the show when it airs. In a statement, she said: "I’m chuffed to be voicing the all new series of Shipwrecked.

"I was such a fan of the show back in the day on T4, and my friends and I would be so invested in all the tribal twists and turns on Shark and Tiger Island, so it’s a real honour to get to have the first sneak peek at winter’s hottest reality show.

"There are some amazing characters, epic bombshells and lovely waves of nostalgia ahead."

Some pretty famous people have been on the show in the past
