Have a story worth sharing? The Exeter Tab needs YOU!

Come to our open meeting on 22nd September, 5pm at The Ram

If student journalism or content creation sounds like something you’d be interested in, come to our first open meeting in Freshers’ Week on 22nd September at 5pm in The Ram. We’ll tell you all there is to know, and you’ll get the chance to meet the team behind the network.

What is The Exeter Tab?

The Exeter Tab is part of a network of university platforms where the biggest news stories, memes and student living guides are shared. Want to know the best places to go out in Exeter? Or exactly what to expect as a fresher? The Exeter Tab will have it.

It is made for students, by students.

That means we need eager writers, editors, and video creators ready to scope the biggest campus stories ready to be shared on everyone’s feed. And who could be better suited for the role besides those living right in the heart of the university?

It’s not just writing – you’ll be creating content like this:

No experience needed!

Think you need prior experience to join? Think again!

One of the best parts about The Exeter Tab is that we welcome everyone, regardless of ability. Consider this a learn-on-the-job role.

We’ll make sure to provide all the necessary training and information, you do the rest.

Why should you join The Exeter Tab?

On the off chance you aren’t already convinced, here are a few more reasons you should join.

Firstly, as students, we know firsthand the trials of finding ways to pad out the CV. Whether you’re looking to pursue journalism or not, this is the perfect way to do so. You’ll learn excellent communication skills and may even get the chance to lead the team as an editor.

Those who have worked for The Tab in the past have gone on to work for The Times, The Telegraph and Vogue.

There will also be numerous chances to have your stories featured on The Tab’s national page and visit the HQ in London, which is an amazing opportunity.

Finally, we can’t forget the socials. This is the perfect way to meet new people and be part of a wider community across universities with those that share similar interests. The Exeter team will be holding frequent socials that range from chill pub trips to club takeovers.

So don’t forget, if you want to find out more, drop us a DM on instagram, or come to our open meeting on 22nd September at 5pm in The Ram. We expect to be welcoming lots of new faces and aspiring creators. We’ll see you all there!
