Lizzo speaks out as she wins lawsuit against wardrobe stylist who accused her of harassment

After three years, Lizzo has officially won the bullying and harassment lawsuit filed against her by an ex-wardrobe stylist, and the entire case has been dismissed. 

Asha Daniels sued the singer and her production company Big Grrrl Touring in September 2023 and accused Lizzo of sexual harassment as well as racial, gender and disability discrimination.

Lizzo has always strongly denied the allegations, and she was dropped as an individual defendant in the lawsuit in 2024. However, the lawsuit against Big Grrrl Touring remained.

On Tuesday, 1st September, all remaining claims were dismissed. Lizzo’s lawyer Melissa Glass called the ruling “a total victory for Lizzo, her touring company and the other defendants named in Asha Daniels’ ludicrous lawsuit,” in a statement to USA Today.

“There was never any basis for Ms. Daniels to sue Lizzo, her touring company, her tour manager or her wardrobe manager. Indeed, the case against Lizzo was thrown out in December 2024. We are exploring all avenues to enforce our clients’ rights after this major win.”

Lizzo also announced the news on her TikTok, writing in a video: “Today I am relieved to announce that I have won the case against me and my touring company Big Grrrl Touring. All the ridiculous claims by a wardrobe assistant who worked on tour for less than three weeks (including the claim they broke an acrylic nail) have been dismissed. 

“It was all so shocking because I was being sued by someone who admittedly never met me. I prayed for the truth to come out and thanks to my incredible lawyers, the truth has prevailed. The truth matters to me more than anything and I told y’all I will not settle and will continue to fight every vicious claim that has been made against me and my businesses.”

Lizzo said she is “grateful” for the outcome and will continue to use her platform to “spread positivity and light to the world”.
