Teen star reveals why she went from hit show Skins to doing OnlyFans, and she might be a genius

Skins star Megan Prescott, who played Katie Fitch, has since moved into the realm of OnlyFans content creation, and the reason is kinda lit. 

Not all Skins stars are created equal, despite the show being widely considered one of the greatest of all time. For instance, the likes of Nicholas Hoult, Kaya Scodelario, Dev Patel, and Daniel Kaluuya have gone on to have huge movie careers, but people like Megan not so much. In the case of Hannah Murray, she joined a legit cult. 

Though some might consider OnlyFans a step down from TV and film, for Megan Prescott, it’s a vital lifeline to explore her passions. 

Why did Skins actress Megan Prescott join OnlyFans?

After trying to build an acting career for the best part of a decade, Megan Prescott was working on a zero-hours contract in a distillery when the pandemic hit in 2020. She had just £300 in her bank account when her boss refused to furlough her. 

It was at this point that a friend suggested she join OnlyFans. Explicit photos and videos from her Skins days were already on the internet, so there was really nothing to lose. 

“I’d spent so many years in acting, trying to get things moving and nothing [was] happening,” she told The Sun in a new interview. “Going on OnlyFans and realising all this content that I was making for free, people would pay for and people would like to pay for, just changed my entire point of view and it really did improve my creative outputs.”

Some might abandon their dreams of acting upon getting that first OnlyFans cheque, but for Megan, it allowed her to pursue the things she really wanted to do.

She explained: “If it wasn’t for OnlyFans, I would not have been able to continue acting and I wouldn’t have been able to pursue writing and making activist content I still love doing it, but because I know I have an option to create my own content with stuff I love, I no longer feel beholden to the acting, the mainstream acting industry where I just have to accept any job.

“I wrote and starred in my debut solo theatre show, Really Good Exposure, which is loosely based on my life as a child actor and what I did afterwards. There is no way I would have ever been able to do that if it wasn’t for having an avenue to make income with OnlyFans.”

It’s opened a bunch of new doors for her, and you can catch Megan Prescott in the upcoming Race of Wits, which is hosted on OnlyFans’ SFW platform OFTV. 

Her decision to join OnlyFans has also opened new ventures in the world of activism, tackling climate change with Lily Phillips in the brilliantly named Headline Newds.
