Here’s who Alex ends up with in the My Life with the Walter Boys books, because we need closure
Er, you might not like the answer
Rejoice, My Life with the Walter Boys season three has arrived on Netflix. Jackie agonises over her feelings for Alex and Cole for another eight episodes, then the season ends with a cliffhanger. Again. If you’re firmly on Team Alex and are desperate to know who he ends up with in the My Life with the Walter Boys books, then we have answers.
So, the Netflix show is based on Ali Novak’s novels My Life with the Walter Boys and My Return to the Walter Boys. Alex is in a relationship by the end of the second book… but I’m afraid it’s not with Jackie.
When Jackie returns to Colorado after a summer in New York, she finds Alex with her friend Kim, “shirtless”, on his bed, with “her mouth attached to his neck”.

So, in the book series, Kim is Alex’s childhood bestie who also enjoys gaming. She’s one of the first people who Jackie befriends when she moves to Colorado. In the Netflix show, the character Kiley appears to be a hybrid of the book characters Kim and Riley.
Jackie is a bit perturbed to find them like this, but then comes around to the idea of them being together. Like the Netflix character Kiley, Kim has been pining after Alex for years. Jackie eventually tells her: “I feel bad too. If I’d known about your feelings for Alex, I never would have encouraged him. I want the two of you to be happy, so as long as you’re good with me, I’d love it if we could move past this awkwardness.”

Alex and Kim’s relationship still seems to be going strong by the end of the book. They’re just as horny for each other when Alex appears in the book for the final time. My Return to the Walter Boys says: “I found Alex and Kim making out on the patio. Interrupting them was uncomfortable – nothing says awkward like witnessing your friend shoving her tongue so far down you ex’s throat that you wonder about potential choking hazards.”
There are also clues that Alex and Kim’s relationship could become more serious. Jackie jokes about them potentially having an engagement party in a board game cafe, and adds, “Kim has enough sophistication for the both of them combined.”
