Creator of The Idaho Murders: College Nightmare has a theory about Bryan Kohberger’s motive

The creator of The Idaho Murders: College Nightmare on Netflix has shared their thoughts on a possible motive Bryan Kohberger may have had. Why the murders were committed is the biggest unanswered question in the case.

Despite previously accepting a guilty plea deal, Bryan Kohberger is now claiming his innocence once again, and wants to take his case to trial. If he does get a trial, prosecutors will have to piece together a possible motive for him.

As is stands, nobody has ever known why he would have wanted to kill the four students. Or why those students in particular were chosen. Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Ethan Chapin, and Xana Kernodle were brutally murdered in their home, after a masked man entered the property.

There have previously been theories Bryan Kohberger was part of the incel movement, but authorities found no evidence to support this. So, what motive may he have had?

Skye Borgman, who directed The Idaho Murders: College Nightmare, has said she believes the house the students lived in was targeted specifically.

“The fact that [this] was the house that he chose. This was a house that had five women living in it,” she told Fox News. “The night that the murders happened, Xana Kernodle’s boyfriend, Ethan Chapin, was over, but really, this was a house full of women, and it seems quite clear that he targeted it.

“He watched the house; he was around the house in the days, weeks and months leading up to the murders. So, it seems pretty likely that he had a very low regard, if not hatred, for women.”

Admitting this is all simply theory, the director added: “It’s all conjecture, but he seemed to struggle with his relationships with women. And we look at this incel movement and the question of whether or not he was an incel, and whether or not he didn’t like women. It seems to me that there was a hatred of women there.”

Ed Jacobson, an FBI special agent involved in the investigation, said in the Netflix documentary that “we never saw evidence that shows Bryan Kohberger is part of the incel movement.” Experts who were brought in for the film found nothing further in his search history, when looking at his devices.

“But Bryan Kohberger was very good at hiding his online activity,” it was noted.
