Ariana Grande’s ‘proud’ mum issues statement on daughter’s health that ‘everyone needs to hear’

Following the conclusion of her Eternal Sunshine tour, Ariana Grande will be “stepping back” from public life for a moment in a “much-deserved break.”

The great debate surrounding Ariana Grande has raged on for months, with some sharing genuine worry for the singer and others not so much. It’s given way to a major question: What’s genuine concern, and what is cruel dogpiling?

Still, following “endless, ongoing public scrutiny”, her team announced that she is taking a step back after a busy few years. As we know, she jumped from one huge project to the next, like both Wicked films, her tour, and the upcoming comedy Focker In-Law.

Ariana herself addressed the conversation during a Chicago show on Monday, admitting, “things can get a little blown out of proportion.”

“It was something that I have decided. A plan that I had quietly made a long time ago. It was a decision that was made from a thoughtful and empowered place,” she said on the decision to take a break.

“Taking care of yourself, your mind, and your heart is never something you should have to apologise for,” she shared in an emotional social media post. “I am so proud of Ariana for knowing when to step back, breathe, and protect her peace. She gives so much of herself to the world, and now it’s time for her to rest.”

Earlier this week, when the highly controversial music video for Petal was dropped, Joan also said: “You are wonderful and this video is incredible. I loved it and I love it even more.”

Ariana and her mum have always had a strong relationship, and supportive public messages have been a staple of their relationship for years. Though there were some critics this time, the vast majority of people have applauded Joan for publicly supporting her daughter.

“Joan’s message is a reminder that everyone needs to hear,” one person said.

It’s not clear when Ariana will return to public life after her break.
