The most awkward part of filming The Traitors is revealed, and it’s actually surprising
It’s happening right now on Celebrity Traitors
Let’s be honest, The Celebrity Traitors looks like a ridiculous amount of fun. They might not be fighting for the cash personally, but with charity money on the line, there’s still a lot to play for. In general, though, the whole thing feels way more relaxed, especially as a lot of them were already friends before the show. They’re having drinks, enjoying breakfast spreads, playing silly games, and hanging out with Claudia Winkleman. What more could you want? Well, as it turns out, some awkward Traitors scenes were hard to film.

Like any reality show, it’s not all luxury breakfasts and murder plots. As we learned from Celia’s nervous fart last week, filming can get a bit stressful. And now, Traitors legends Diane Carson and Miles Asteri from season two have spilled what might be the most awkward part of filming the whole thing.
Diane — the iconic Faithful who was poisoned by her best mate Miles with a chalice of fizzy rosé — hosts a podcast called Spill the Fizz with drag queen Beary Poppins. The pair are currently reviewing Celebrity Traitors, and sharing their thoughts on this season.

In the latest episode, Diane and Miles revealed that filming those random “meanwhile” or “faithful downtime” scenes is honestly torture. You know the ones — overly staged clips of people reading in bed, showering, or writing in their journal while everyone else is plotting murder in the turret.
When Beary asked if those moments are as awkward to film as they look, Diane didn’t hesitate: “Yes. Mine was awful.”

Miles agreed, explaining: “The thing is, when I did mine, I didn’t really realise what I was doing it for. But I only had to do one; I was reading a book, which if anybody knows me, knows ain’t true.”

He added: “I’m flipping through these pages. I only had to do one because then I was recruited.”
Diane, as ever, went a step further: “I had to do mine over and over and over again, because I had to drink a cup of tea – which I don’t drink anyway – according to what they wanted for this. Jesus. And then whatever else they asked me to do, I said, ‘I won’t be doing that.’ And then I said, ‘Well, I would do lunges in the house,’ so I did that. I found it very awkward. I’m not an actor. It was horrendous.”

This year, we’ve already had Tom Daley’s steamy shower moment. While the Traitors debated whether to kill Tom, Joe Wilkinson, or Clare Balding, we got clips of the three of them going about their “normal” routines: Clare journaling, Joe playing darts, and Tom… taking a very cinematic shower.
People were simultaneously devastated that Tom was out and grateful that production gave them one shower shot before his untimely death.
Honestly, if Diane’s right, Tom probably earned that one.
