‘Live a little’: Sombr responds to TikTok calling his concert ‘cringe’ in new video
The TikTok creator has already clapped back at him
Over the weekend, a TikToker went to a Sombr concert and called it her “worst” live show experience ever. Now, Sombr himself has responded in a new sassy video for TikTok.
Megan, known as Megantor on TikTok, shared her negative experience at a Sombr concert in Washington D.C on the 13th of October. She claimed the singer made several cringey jokes and had bad stage presence, making her leave the show early, even though she loves his music. The video went viral, gaining over five million views.
@meganator__ idk what i expected but it was certainly not that
“First two minutes he’s on stage, he makes a six-seven joke,” she said. “I’ve never had such an immediate buyer’s remorse in my life.”
The 25-year-old criticised the artist for apparently making chronically online jokes the whole time he was on stage. She even left early, calling it the “most egotistical” performance she had ever seen in her life.
“It was brain rot on stage,” she said.
Besides the “cringe” jokes, Megan said Sombr’s actual performance wasn’t enjoyable. She was shocked to see TikToks praising the same performance she went to, and even apparently comparing him to rock icons like David Bowie.
“Slenderman? We’re picking him? We’re picking the weird dancing dude?” she said.
Sombr, real name Shane Boose, hit back with a short video on TikTok.
@sombr rant
“She was body shaming me, which has kind of started a body shaming hate train directed towards me on a lot of videos on the internet right now,” the musician said.
He defended his brain rot humour and the young audience that attends his concerts.

“I totally respect people having opinions, but I am a 20-year-old artist. If you’re 25-years-old and you’re going to come to my concerts and not expect people younger than you to be there, when I, the artist, am five years younger than you, it’s just a skill issue.”
Megan has already responded to the body shaming allegations in her latest TikTok.
“Was the body shaming in the room with us?” she said. “In my nine minute video, only once do I even allude to anything about his looks.”
