Um, what the hell is a betrayal list and how does the trend link to Kanye West?!
It’s gone viral this week
A new trend has gone viral on TikTok and Instagram this week where people are sharing their betrayal lists, and the captions are all about Kanye West. If you’re confused, here’s a full rundown of the trend.
So, it all started when Kanye West posted this
Back in September, Kanye went on one of his weird viral Twitter rants and posted a wild list shaming people who have supposedly betrayed him in his life. Well, he claims they have anyway.
“I AM IN PAIN NO PERSON THAT NO ONE PERSON CAN FIX,” he wrote before sharing the list, which was titled: “THE BETRAYAL.”
The people on there bizarrely ranged from President Donald Trump to rapper Playboi Cart, that cartoon money Curious George, Adolf (presumably Hitler) and his own daughter North West.
Here’s the full list: Kim Kardashian, IShowSpeed, Diddy, Ty $, Harriet Tubman, North West, Pusha, Freddie Gibson, Cudi, Curious George, Donald Trump, Pete Davidson, Patrick Star, LeBron James, King Von, Playboi Carti, James Murray and Adolf.

Now the betrayal list trend has taken over TikTok
It’s been a couple of weeks since Kanye’s post went viral, and people are have now started sharing their own betrayal lists, but it’s not people who have betrayed them.
Instead, people online are adding things that have really annoyed them in life onto their betrayal list, and pretty much anything goes.
Snapchat now charging for memories, laser hair removal, Ticketmaster, random callers, fire alarms, paper straws and iPhone storage are a few of the things getting called out in the trend. I agree with all of them.

The trend basically just consists of people writing a long list and posting it on TikTok in any format they want, but you have to add a certain song. It’s Kanye’s Runaway, obviously.
