Doja Cat has clapped back after everyone dragged her new album cover, and she’s fuming

We need an investigation into how she’s never had a good album artwork

Doja Cat is dropping her new album Vie on Friday, and rest assured it’s going to be iconic. Dare I say, potential to be her best yet – even if lead single Jealous Type hasn’t lit up the charts in the way her previous big hits have. Even though it should have been massive because it’s an absolute banger. It’s all very 80s themed, and Doja Cat has tapped up big writing and producing names like Jack Antonoff to match her new pivot. After everyone initially thought the album cover was a close up of Doja’s fan with flowers round it – which was horrible – Doja now confirmed that it’s not the Vie album cover. Instead, the Vie album cover is completely different – and everyone has dragged it online which has made Doja Cat clap back. She’s fuming.

The new cover is a majorly different vibe

The new cover for Vie sees Doja Cat hanging from a tree in an opulent gown as the parachute gets caught amid the branches. Whilst it’s a cool image and I personally think it’s a sick album cover, it’s not gone down well online. Everyone has dragged Doja Cat for the album cover for Vie because of similarities with Endless Summer Vacation by Miley Cyrus – as well as because it doesn’t seem to match the rest of the vibe of the music. She’s been posting much more fitting visuals on Instagram that people feel would have been more the vibe.

Doja explained on Instagram when announcing the cover “Falling in love is putting trust in the hands of yourself and others. The yellow parachute represents curiosity, happiness, and adventure. Flying you towards new experiences and scenes, taking a leap of faith, and holding no bounds. The tree represents life and wisdom. Giving you a sense of safety within its branches, but the pain from the fall teaches you that those scratches can be healed. You don’t have to hit the ground. Love grows upward but more importantly down. It’s the roots that keep you steady. This is the cover of my album.”

Doja Cat clapped back after it got dragged

Writing in a post on X, Doja Cat said “You can’t make me feel bad for a cover that has visceral meaning. The greatest armour is love and integrity. I forgive your harsh criticism but for me I won yet again following my heart. If I was you I wouldn’t.”

It’s not the first time Doja Cat has kicked off with her album cover getting dragged – she had the same ordeal with Scarlet in 2022.

For her last album, Doja was a bit more livid and said “If you don’t like my album cover wash your p*ssy because no one cares and shut the f*ck up b*tch.”

At least we know that, as per, the music is gonna slap.
