Disturbing details emerge as dad is suspected of killing three daughters and then going on run

Right now, there is an active manhunt for a 32-year-old man called Travis Decker. He is suspected of killing his three young daughters, before going on the run.

Decker, from Washington, US, has been on the run since May 30th, and the bodies of his three daughters were found shortly after this. Investigators have since released shocking new details they say link him to the murders.

On May 30th, Decker vanished alongside his three daughters, Paityn, nine, Evelyn, eight, and Olivia, five. The bodies of the girls were found days later, on June 2nd. They were found alongside an abandoned pickup truck, that belonged to Travis Decker.

He is now wanted on charges of first-degree murder and kidnapping. Here’s what we know.

What is Travis Decker suspected of doing?

Travis Decker is currently wanted for the murder and kidnap of his three daughters. They were reported missing during a “planned visitation” with him. Travis split with the mother of the girls, Whitney Decker, and they divorced in 2022. Since then, they had been co-parenting.

A medical examiner has concluded the girls each died of asphyxiation, and their deaths were ruled as homicides. They were found near the Rock Island Camp ground along Icicle Creek. Shocking details have now been released about what happened to the children.

“Two of the victims each had two separate bags over their heads and the third victim had three separate bags over their head,” the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. “In addition, several cable ties were located on the ground in the immediate area of the bodies.”

There was a DNA sample taken from a handprint on the truck abandoned by the bodies, which was a match for Decker. This further tied him to the crime scene. There was also reportedly DNA evidence linking him to the bags and cable ties found at the scene. As of right now, he is the only suspect.

“The completion of this DNA analysis provides additional evidence that indicates Travis Decker is the only suspect involved in committing these homicides,” the sheriff’s office added.

The latest on the manhunt for Travis Decker

The sheriff’s office admitted in a statement there is limited information about the whereabouts of Travis Decker. It said: Decker’s whereabouts remain unknown. At this time, we do not have any evidence to suggest Travis Decker is either alive or deceased.”

It has been reported Decker had allegedly searched “how to relocate to Canada” online before the time of the murders, which has lead authorities to believe he may have fled to there. There have been two reported sightings of Decker, but they have both been ruled out.

The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
