Shakira, Toni and Yas have announced their post-Love Island career plans and I can’t wait

The best thing to come out of Love Island 2025 was easily the holy trinity of Shakira Khan, Toni Laites and Yasmin Petter. Their friendship nourishes my soul. Get excited, because it sounds like they’ll all be in our lives for a while. Shakira, Toni and Yasmin have unveiled their future career plans, and it sounds like we’ll be seeing a lot more of them in the future. What a relief.

Shakira, Toni and Yasmin told i-D what they planned to do next with their lives.

We already knew Shakira was into acting – she legit has a side hustle dressing up as princesses for kids’ parties. She hopes to land some more acting jobs. Shakira aims to be a “role model for younger girls in the huge community of South Asian people in the UK.”

So, Toni has been hanging out in London with Cach since they won Love Island. She has to go back to the US this weekend. But thankfully, she confirmed to i-D that she will move back to the UK soon and grace us all with her presence for longer. What a relief. She’s trying to get a visa, so she can become a presenter in the UK.

Before Love Island, Yasmin had a proper corporate job as a commercial banking executive. But it sounds like she’s gearing up for that #influencerlife. Yasmin wants to do more work on “TV and shoots”. She and Toni have their first collab planned out. They want to work with the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. Toni said: “Yaz and I both have IBD (inflammatory bowel disease), and they’ve already reached out. That’s something that we want to have a long-lasting relationship with.”

In previous years, Love Island finalists have signed up to brand deals pretty much as soon as they return to the UK. Toni, Shakira and Yasmin have broken tradition and haven’t made any announcements about this yet. Yasmin explained why. “We’re all sacrificing short-term money because we all want long-term careers.” Fair play to them.

It’s also been rumoured that ITV are contemplating making a reality TV show about Toni, although she hasn’t touched upon this in any interviews. The other girls, Cach, and Toni’s mum could feature anything. I am willing to start a petition to make this happen.
