We need to talk about how posh Gemma Owen’s new man is, with family wealth nearing £1 billion

If you haven’t heard by now, which would be strange because she constantly goes on about it, Love Island’s Gemma Owen is the nepo baby daughter of footballer Michael Owen. We officially met Gemma during season eight of Love Island when she was coupled up with Luca Bish. They remained together outside the villa for three months, with Gemma later racking up boyfriends ranging from footballers to other reality TV stars.

More recently, Gemma has been dating a man called Red Morgan. Though his name evokes an image of cattle ranching in Texas, it turns out Gemma Owen’s boyfriend is way (way) posher than she is.

Red Morgan, once described as a “rising star” in Cheshire riding circles, has represented Britain at numerous equestrian competitions over the years. At just 18 years old, he competed in the European Championships with his horse, Golia, according to Tatler.

As you can proboably already tell from the equestrian element, Red Morgan is ridiculously posh. He’s reportedly bounced between his love of horses and following in his father’s footsteps in the property sector. His daddy, property tycoon Steve Morgan, is reportedly worth a truly bonkers £915 million. For reference, Gemma’s father, Michael, is worth a measly £54 million in comparison.

“I wanted to have a bit of balance between the horses and a different profession,’ Red told Horse and Hound in 2022. “So at the moment I’m not sure if becoming a professional showjumper is the route I’ll take, but it’s good to have something separate, it’s the best of both worlds, it’s brilliant.”

Red’s Instagram is set to private, but he does have nearly 7k followers.

Rumours of Gemma Owen’s new boyfriend began swirling back in April when Red Morgan reportedly joined Gemma and her family on a sunny yacht holiday. Having operated in the same circles for years, Gemma Owen and her new boyfriend were friends before they were dating.

Their first public apperence was at Wimbledon in June.

They’re currently on holiday together

Earlier this week, Gemma shared a slew of pictures to her Instagram alongside the caption, “Amazing memories made.” The piccies featured Gemma Owen and her boyfriend in a tropical location, sipping espresso martinis, and enjoying picturesque views.
