Two months later, Love Island’s Toni has FINALLY addressed choosing Harrison over Cach

It all worked out in the end, but still

It might have all worked out in the end, with Toni Laites and Cach Mercer taking the crown and the £50k prize, but the Harrison Solomon of it all was a particularly frustrating era of Love Island 2025.

When Love Island season 12 kicked off earlier this year, soon-to-be winner Toni was pretty smitten with raging red flag Harrison. They coupled up on day 13, and stayed together until day 30 when Toni chose to couple up with Cach. But, as we know, things only got more complicated from here.

Toni, Harrison, and Lauren Wood were soon involved in a major reality TV love triangle – a square if you factor in Cach, who was heartbroken when Toni ditched him for Harrison. Unfortunately, Harrison easily fell victim to the Casa Amor curse, sleeping with Lauren twice when he was still with Toni. When this devastating betrayal came to light, Toni ditched his ass once and for all.

Toni and Cach obviously went on to win the whole show, but now in a new interview, the former has shed some light on her questionable decisions inside the villa.

Love Island’s Toni said her Harrison comeback was ’embarrassing’

I think the whole nation collectively groaned when Toni chose to recouple with Harrison on day 35 of Love Island season 12, but don’t worry, even she knows she made an awful decision.

In a new interview with i-D alongside Shakira and Yasmin, Toni said: “I talked a big game, saying ‘you don’t deserve me,’ but then I crumbled.”

She also admitted to finding the whole saga “embarrassing”, detailing how it’s the sort of behaviour she would have exhibited before signing up to the ITV dating show.

“I handled the whole embarrassing situation the way that I would have handled relationships in the past, but it’s important to own up if you do something wrong—it means so much more when you’re able to recognise that and improve,” Toni added.

At the end of the day, she still bagged that man and half of the £50k prize, so all is fair in love and war.

Elsewhere in the interview, the girls addressed the divide between the women inside the villa. For a refresher, on one side we had Helena Ford and Megan Moore, and on the other Toni, Shakira, and Yasmin.

“We felt that massively in the changing room, the snickers, the whispers, the dirty looks,” Yasmin expressed. “When you come around the corner and they stop talking, you feel isolated, it feels frosty, really tense, and it’s not nice. It wasn’t a bad edit; we tried to fix it, but that was our experience, we lived it.”
