Uber driver reveals how much he actually earns in a week, and it’s got people arguing
Everyone is divided on whether it’s good
People are really divided after a British Uber driver broke down how much he actually earns on an average week.
Rob, an Uber driver in Yorkshire, went viral on TikTok earlier this month when he broke down his exact earnings from the taxi job, before tax.
“The results are in. We’ve got the information we need, so it’s time to ind out how much I actually earned as an Uber driver this week,” he said.
“So this week, I worked a total of 65 hours 15 minutes. That is total time. That is not just driving time. That is all the time that I was logged on and available.”
His takings in that time was £1610.56, and the expenses he had to pay for like petrol and insurance, came to £419.86. That makes his total earnings £1,190.70.
As an hourly rate, it breaks down to £18.25. Rob said that’s a “pretty successful week,” and his average annual salary would be just over £61,000. Nice, right?
Well, people in the comments think that’s absolutely terrible for the number of hours work he’s actually doing.

“So you get what about £714 after the tax ? For 65 hours worth of work?” one person said.
Another agreed: “That’s piss poor mate.”
“When you consider the hours, that’s not good,” someone else said.
Another commented: “65 hours is crazy.”
However, others are arguing that the Uber driver is earning a really great salary, and he isn’t actually driving for the whole 65 hours.
” £4k a month profit not bad,” someone else said.
Another agreed: “Everyone saying it’s bad. He’s out earning a living, taking near £4k a month. That’s double what most people make a month.”

Okay, he might not be driving the whole time, but he is sitting there waiting for calls to come in, so it is technically still working.
“I don’t usually do these kinds of hours but it is quiet season at the minute with no students,” he argued.
