OMG! This iconic Liverpool coffee spot is giving out freebies, and here’s how to get yours

Be one of the first 200 people through the door? Light work, no reaction

Are you a Liverpool student staying in the city over the summer? Are you still keeping up with that crippling caffeine addiction you developed during exam season? Then trust me when I say you’re in for a treat next week.

One of our favourite student coffee hotspots is handing out free drinks, including a pink iced matcha, for one day and one day only, so it might be time for you to put down the canned lattes from the Heron Foods next to the Sydney Jones, and start daydreaming about some real espresso.

It might not be a crisp old pint of Jubel Peach from Black Cat, but it’s cheap, cheerful, and caffeinated enough to get you through that post-graduation or mid-summer slump.

I hope you’re sitting down reading this, because you’ve got the chance to grab a completely free iced drink on Tuesday 22nd July if you’re one of the first 200 people through the doors of one of their stores. Does that give a clue to who we’re talking about here?

You guessed it. 200 Degrees Coffee, a staple in any university student’s cafe roster, is offering up Instagram Story worthy free iced teas, flat whites, cold brews and matcha next week, all to celebrate their refreshing new summer menu.

It’ll be an early morning start though, as students can rock up from 7am at the Metquarter store, and 8am at the Bold Street branch, in the hopes of being one of the first 200 people to claim their free bev. Let’s just hope the sun’s out on Tuesday, eh?

Not to add any pressure, but these summer sips are limited edition, and will only be available for the sunnier months.

Even better if you can get your hands on a free one, obviously.

What’s on the new summer menu then? I heard you, don’t worry. 200 Degrees are offering an Iced Pink Guava Matcha with Cold Foam, a Cold Brew with Vanilla Cold Foam, and an Iced Guest Flat White with Vanilla Cold Foam.

If you’re not a fan of foams of the cold variety, or fancy something less caffeinated and more refreshing, then the fun hasn’t stopped. Also up for grabs is a Golden Guava Refresher, and an Apple and Elderflower Iced Tea.

Nothing screams summer more than exotic fruit and an iced drink with “refresher” in the name. It might not hit the same as a Daydream Matcha from Blank Street, but hey, it’s green and aesthetically pleasing, what more could you ask for?

So, get those alarms set, shoes by the door, and tired flatmate in tow, because this is bound to get busy. Don’t worry if you don’t make it in time though, a pint at the Hope and Anchor will always be waiting for you.
