Human hair and fart guns: 11 weirdest finds from TikTok’s ‘cleaning my room too hard’ trend

How people are keeping 10 year old rotten food in their rooms, I’ll never know

You think you know your room well? Think again, because you might if you start to clean it, you just find something other than a dirty sock.

This was the case with a number of TikTok users who found more than they were hoping for whilst jumping on social media’s latest trend.

The “I just cleaned my room too hard” trend has been taking over TikTok recently, with people sharing the wildest things lurking about in their bedrooms.

So, let’s look at the craziest items TikTokers have found.

A chopped ponytail

A lost hair tie is always common to find. But a chunk of your ponytail, not so much.

A TikTok user uploaded a video of holding her chopped off ponytail in her hand, with the caption reading: “Hair holds memories.”

Maybe it was a bad breakup or a DIY experiment gone wrong! I guess we’ll never know.

Rotten Fruit Gushers

TikTok user @torilovesnori shared a compilation video calling it “weird crap in my room with me while I clean” and well, she did the trend justice.

Whilst rooting through her bedroom, Tori seemingly stumbled across some mouldy Fruit Gushers, a type of sweet found in the USA.

God knows how much they were in there for, but frankly, I don’t want to know.

Fart gun

Took me a minute to believe it and process it.

Yes, it is indeed a fart gun that @torilovesnori found lying around in her room, and yes, if you watch her video, she does use it for her followers.

Tori certainly had a big room clean, as she was also the TikToker who found a collection of rotten Fruit Gushers lingering about.

Coco Pops World Cup ball

@ben.hareeeee I remember only buying the cereal because of these😅 , if u know u know ❤️#brazil #2014 #worldcup #kellogs ♬ L MIRL – ✿

Ben posted a TikTok following the “I cleaned my room a little too hard” trend and guess what? He found an iconic Coco Pops World Cup ball.

Captioning the video “I remember only buying the cereal because of these, if you know you know,” Ben gained 1.6m likes on this TikTok.

The comment section was indeed a trip down the memory lane with users commenting “what a time to be alive” and “This is peak nostalgia”.

Beak mask

@dibsymans so much stuff accumulated from socials 😭#uni ♬ cry – ᖭི༏ᖫྀ

Diba, a TikTok user and uni student, uploaded a video with her in a doctor’s costume, wearing a beak mask! As in a literal bird mask.

Mouldy grapes

This is the second mouldy item on this list so I think we can all agree that you all need to clean your rooms more.

Lauren Muscatell shared a delightful snap on TikTok, showing some mouldy grapes she found lurking in her bedroom.

TikTok users couldn’t believe they didn’t smell, but as we’ve seen, this seems to be a more common occurrence than we’d like.

Fish mask

Not Tori again.

This time she found a fish mask in her room. Of course, as one would expect, she put on a true show for her followers, fabulously modelling the garm.

However, the question does need to be asked: Why would anyone own a fish mask?

Turtle food

Keeping on the aquatic theme, one TikTok user shared she found a packet of turtle food amongst other things, while cleaning her room. And, guess what? SHE DOESN’T EVEN OWN A TURTLE!

Heart-shaped chewing gum

The same user as above, @glossninja, found a heart shaped chewing gum, from 2016.  She captioned the video: “Rating stuff I find while cleaning my room,” with the gum getting a respectable 5/10.
