P Diddy berated by judge in court after ‘absolutely unacceptable’ act towards jury

The judge threatened to have him removed

P Diddy has had a telling off in court, after an act towards the jury was branded as “absolutely unacceptable” by the judge. Judge Arun Subramanian threatened to have Sean “Diddy” Combs removed from the courtroom.

The case against Diddy began last month, and is expected to continue for more weeks to come. He is currently on trial in New York. The 55-year-old faces charges including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty and has denied all allegations.

During proceedings this week, Diddy received a harsh warning from the judge, regarding his behaviour towards the jury. He was seemingly trying to interact with jurors, and was warned about behaviour that may influence them. He was seen “nodding vigorously” towards jurors, during certain parts of testimony.

Judge Subramanian said in court: “Mr Agnifilo [Diddy’s lawyer], your client was looking at jurors and nodding vigorously. This can’t continue, or I will give a limiting instruction you won’t like, or other measures, including barring your client from the courtroom. Do you understand?”.

Marc Agnifilo then told the judge it would not happen again. The judge then added: “There should be no efforts whatsoever to have an interaction with this jury.”

A transcript from the moment has been shared on Twitter, and it adds that the judge told Mr Agnifilo: “I was very clear this morning that there were to be no facial expressions, other attempts to have any interaction with the jury whatsoever. Any influence on the jury whatsoever. And I could not have been clearer in the terms of what I said. You heard me, right?”.

The judge went on to call Diddy’s actions towards the jury “absolutely unacceptable.” He added: “If it happens again, I will give an instruction to the jury or it could result in the exclusion of your client from the courtroom.”

The moment happened during the cross-examination of Bryana Bongolan, a former graphic designer for Combs and friend of the his ex, Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura.

The trial continues.
