Time’s ticking, Exeter! Vote now in the BNOC semi final 2025
Voting closes on Friday 6th June at 2pm
The long-awaited BNOC semi final you’ve all been (im)patiently waiting for is finally here, after weeks of refreshing your feeds and eyeing up the competition.
Four absolute icons have battled their way into the semi finals, but now its in your hands. We need your vote to decide which two stars will survive the chaos and make it into the final.
This year’s semi finalists truly embody the spirit of Exeter. We’ve got everything from humans to non-humans (specifically, a cat). From sports soldiers and academic weapons to TP warriors and campus legends.
Have a read below to refresh your minds of our beloved candidates. The deadline for votes is 2pm on Friday 6th June.
Abged Siddig: Third year, medicine
Welcome back Abged Siddig, a third year medicine student! Despite being a full-time STEM baddie, his interests wander far beyond the medical world.
In his own words, Abged is a “Spotify fiend and CD aficionado”. Most of his time is spent consuming “God-awful media with friends”, and he’s got a deep, everlasting love for a Cavern Saturday.
You’ll most likely spot him behind the counter at the Starbucks in Forum, where he works part-time – yapping with customers and living his best barista life. That’s one way to pass the time, right?
Will our “Frank Ocean lookalike” win your vote?
Boris Angelov: Second year, law
Next up is Boris Angelov, a second year LLB law student. While Boris is well-known across campus as “funny, hardworking, and kind”, he spends most of his free-time exploring life outside of the hustle and bustle of uni life.
Most Read
A true nature-loving soul, Boris loves “meeting with friends” and “going for a walk by the quayside”. He also loves taking the train to Exmouth “for a sunny day by the beach”. Don’t we all? So relatable.
Among his many talents, Boris enjoys writing poetry and expressing his thoughts lyrically. Definitely a deserved BNOC.
Napoleon: Furr-st year, purr-litics
Our next BNOC is a particularly familiar face on campus. Napoleon, the “legendary, iconic, and ginger” campus cat. He is basically Exeter royalty at this point. Most often spotted perched somewhere along Forum Hill, let’s be real: It’s not a proper BNOC competition without him.
Our multi-talented furry friend is proudly part of both the “Pussy Appreciation” and “Meow-sical Theatre” societies. I wish I was this talented.
Oh, and fun fact? He’s even hoping to drop merch. Napoleon fans, we’re so back.
Sylvie Cox: Fourth year, communication and modern languages
Last (but absolutely not least), we’ve got the one and only Sylvie Cox. Most famously described as “organised, awkward, and MOTHER”, where’s the lie?
Sylvie’s a fourth-year BA Communication and Modern Languages student, but she truly shines on the Women’s Football and Futsal teams. She’s also part of AU Exec, repping as the Media and Publicity Officer.
Like a true BNOC, she’s always out and about, socialising and “constantly around snapping pics and interviewing people” which she “loves doing!”
While she was known for “dating every 6’5 guy in Exeter over the past four years”, she’s now wifed up. Sorry boys x
Remember, voting closes on 6th June at 2pm!
