From an assault accusation to weddings: Here’s what the TOWIE season one cast is up to now

We were all obsessed with old school TOWIE. The drama, the fights, the romances, the British public just couldn’t get enough.

And can you believe it? It’s been 15 years since we were introduced to names such as James Argent, Mark Wright, Amy Childs, and Lauren Goodger. Reality TV truly hasn’t been the same since.

But, what are cast of TOWIE season one up to now? Let’s see.

Mark Wright

The ultimate heartthrob of season one, Mark Wright stormed on our screens with his perfected quiff and his glowy Marbs tan. We were quaking in our boots.

In season one, Mark was dating childhood sweetheart Lauren Goodger, and was rarely seen without best pal James Argent at his side.

However, since then Mark has gone on to be one of TOWIE’s most successful cast members.

Mark has married and welcomed a child with the incredibly talented Michelle Keegan. The couple wed in 2015, having their baby 10 years later.

The 38-year-old works as a DJ on Heart, and also has his own health and fitness company, Live Wright.

Mark also renovated his marital home with Michelle, sharing stunning photos of the transformation on his Instagram page.

James ‘Arg’ Argent

Arg, Mark’s best friend in the show, has remained active in the tabloids since the show’s launch.

Arg famously dated Gemma Collins for several years, but has since been thrust back into the spotlight for admitting to gender violence against his partner, Nicoline Artursson.

Arg works as a singer, having a residence at La Cala de Mijas’ Olivia’s Bar and Restaurant in Spain. He has also been on a number of reality shows such as Celebs Go Dating and The Jump.

As well as his exposure on reality TV, Arg has been very open about his drugs and alcohol addictions. In 2014, he was suspended from TOWIE for failing a drugs test, and has previously checked himself in for treatment at a rehabilitation facility.

Since then, he has recovered from these addictions and says he has “never been happier”.

Amy Childs

Amy was my favourite cast member. She was chatty and fun, and of course, popularised the term “vajazzle” which had Essex in a chokehold.

After appearing in the first two seasons of TOWIE, Amy had her own show called It’s All About Amy, and featured on Celebrity Big Brother, coming fourth in 2011.

Amy currently had four children, and is a relationship with First Dates star Billy Delbosq.

Lauren Goodger

Lauren was chaotic and dramatic, and frankly I was here for all of it.

She was on the show on and off for a few seasons before returning properly in 2024.

During the first season of TOWIE, she was in a relationship with Mark Wright before they split in 2012 after dating for 10 years.

Lauren has been extremely open about the devastating loss of her second baby Lorena in 2022. Lorena died at two days old despite being born “with no pregnancy or labour complications”.

The 38-year-old also featured on Charles C Brunson’s We Need to Talk podcast, in which she opened up about facing loneliness, her lack of trust, and the loss of Lorena.

Sam Faiers

Sam joined the cast along with her sister Billie in 2010. During the show, she famously dated Joey Essex, who she ended up getting engaged to.

Since leaving the show in 2014, Sam starred with Billie in their reality show, Sam Knightley and Billie Shepherd: The Mummy Diaries, until 2021.

Sam is married to Paul Knightley, with whom she shares three children. She has also had numerous fashion collabs, including a current one with Tesco and founded Revive Collagen, an award winning collagen supplement.

Billie Faiers

Sam’s older sister Billie also featured on TOWIE, but has since carved out a career as a successful influencer.

As well as her aforementioned show with Sam, Billie has a show called The Family Diaries on ITVBe.

She often shares pics of her family on holiday, photos of her gorgeous home, and updates on her career.

Billie has been married to Greg Shepherd since 2019, and they share three children together.

Joey Essex

Like clockwork every year, Joey appears on another reality show. Since TOWIE, he’s been on I’m a Celeb, Love Island, Celebs Go Dating, and Dancing on Ice, to name a few.

He’s had a flurry of famous girlfriends too including Love Island’s Jessy Potts and Grace Jackson, as well as Stephanie Pratt who he met on Celebs Go Dating.

Joey is currently collabing with Amazon and has been attending lots of boujie events.

Lucy Mecklenburgh

Lucy came on TOWIE and stole not only our hearts but Mark’s, then later Mario’s on the show. She was a force to be reckoned with, and still is, having a hugely successful career.

Since TOWIE, Lucy has gone on to have numerous collabs with companies such as Very and PrettyLittleThing.

She also has her own company called RWL which focuses on keeping women happy and healthy through exercise.

In her personal life, Lucy is engaged to actor Ryan Thomas, with whom she shares two children. The couple often share loved up displays on Instagram, including some recently from their stunning holiday to St Kitts.
