A savage but fair ranking of the seven I’m A Celeb winners we all totally forgot existed

Did I sleep through their seasons or something?

I’m A Celeb has been running for so many years and with so many winners that I totally forgot these seven former champions existed – sorry guys.

2024’s I’m A Celeb saw Danny Jones’ reign as king of the jungle begin, even if he will be forced to return the prize. He was congratulated by members of McFly, with former winner Dougie even joking that he’d voted for Coleen Rooney.

Though I undoubtedly remember Dougie’s time on the show amongst names such as Mark Wright and Fatima Whitbread, one look at the I’m A Celeb Wiki page had me googling name after name as I attempted to jog my memory. Sure, Stacey Solomon, Harry Redknapp, and Georgia Toffolo are instantly recognisable, but as it turns out these seven former champions are just incredibly forgettable.

7. Tony Blackburn – season one

ITV

At the show’s inception in 2002, Tony Blackburn beat away campmates such as Tara Palmer-Tomkinson and Christine Hamilton to win the crown. Who are those other celebs I hear you ask? No idea. The entire first season is largely forgettable as ITV were working through teething areas, though upon watching you’ll find that Ant and Dec are still making the same jokes after 20 years.

Tony is a DJ, singer and television presenter, whose career spans 60 years. Despite his obviously impressive bank of work, I would be losing the pub trivia quiz if the first winner of I’m A Celeb came up.

6. Joe Pasquale –  season four

Joe Pascale

Joe Pasquale has been a staple of British television for years, and yet, I had completely forgotten his inclusion in season four back in 2004 with Janet Street-Porter, Sophie Anderton, and Sheila Ferguson. He even did pretty well before his win, scoring 15 out of the 22 stars available to him.

5. Carol Thatcher – season five

Carol

Margaret Thatcher might be the UK prime minister we are trying to forget, but her daughter Carol already beat her to the punch as one of the most forgettable stars in I’m A Celeb. She was featured on the show in 2005 with Antony Costa and Sid Owen, racking up 20 out of the available 32 stars.

She was ultimately crowned the winner and I can’t say I’ve seen a single thing about her since. You alright Carol?

4. Kian Egan – season 13

Kian Egan

In 2013, Kian Egan arose victorious against Joey Essex and Amy Willerton as the champion of season 13. Unfortunately, he was the forgettable member of Westlife and that carried over to I’m A Celeb. He was lost amongst such big personalities and I’m certain the only reason he won was the primary middle-aged demographic both I’m A Celeb and Westlife share.

Despite what Westlife’s one good song says, I was not raised up by Kian’s performance.

3. Carl Fogarty – season 14

Carl Fogarty

Season 14 had loads of notable names such as Jake Quickenden, Melanie Sykes, Tinchy Stryder, and Edwina Currie, so why did superbike racer Carl Fogarty secure the crown? Your guess is as good as mine. Nonetheless, he did manage to get all 43 of his available stars which is quite an impressive feat.

It would have been Gemma Collins in the thrown if she’d managed to stay in the jungle longer than three days.

2. Jacqueline Jossa – season 19

Jacqueline jossa

I love Jacqueline Jossa as much as the next former EastEnders addict, but five years after her win in 2019 I’m failing to recall a single notable moment other than the amount of bushtucker trials she underwent.

I love you, Jacqueline, even if I forgot you were in the jungle.

1. Danny Miller – season 21

Danny Jones

It’s not his fault but Danny Miller appeared in perhaps the most overlooked edition of the I’m A Celeb franchise when it was relocated to Wales because of the pandemic. Still, it had some great cast members such as Arlene Phillips, Matty Lee, and Snoochie Shy.

Though some pegged Adam Woodyatt as the obvious winner, in a battle of the soaps Danny stole the crown. He is perhaps one of the more memorable names on this list, but even then, that’s hardly a compliment.

Maybe I’m just blocking that entire year from my memory?
