Wait! Apparently, this year’s RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Onya Nurve has a girlfriend!

This year’s reigning queen, the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race 2025 and season 17 legend Onya Nurve has gagged everyone with the news that they have a girlfriend! Onya Nurve never spoke about her sexuality on the show particularly – certainly no girlfriend was mentioned – but in what has been confirmed by another queen in her season the reigning champ and currently America’s Next Drag Superstar is happy loved up. Twitter is obviously in a frenzy over the news because of how few queens in the Drag Race canon are into women, and here’s all you need to know about the news that Onya Nurve apparently has a girlfriend!

Onya is yet to comment on it, but there’s a lot of evidence from her fellow sisters and fans are so happy for her online right now.

Hormona Lisa, the very iconic queen of season 17 that she is, has apparently confirmed several times on a social media live that the woman pictured with Onya above is actually her girlfriend. In the comments under the tweet, one fan said Hormona confirmed it several times and wasn’t aware if people knew or not.

Another claimed that they had a friend who did some alterations on looks Onya wore for Drag Race and Onya had mentioned having a girlfriend, too.

Whilst Onya isn’t the first queen to identify as bisexual or otherwise and be openly dating women, she is part of a small pool considering the vast majority of queens cast on the show throughout its long history have been gay men – and let’s face it, we need more diversity.

Maddy Morphosis from season 14 of Drag Race is most famous for being the show’s first ever straight male competitor. But Maddy isn’t fully alone with having a girlfriend, because Scaredy Kat from the first season of Drag Race UK spoke on the show about having a girlfriend. Anubis from Drag Race UK season three is also bisexual.

Other queens who’ve spoke about being bi or pan include Daya Betty, Kylie Sonique Love, Courtney Act, Bob the Drag Queen and Gottmik. Recently, whilst competing on the currently airing All Stars 10, Aja has also confirmed she’s bisexual.
