Um, one of this year’s iconic Drag Race queens is implying she’s related to the new pope

No you are not dreaming or in the midst of a fever dream – you did actually read that headline correctly. Yep, one of this year’s most iconic and popular queens from the this year’s earlier season 17 of RuPaul’s Drag Race is actually implying that she may be related to Robert Prevost – aka, the newly appointed Pope Leo XIV. Obviously, this is probably just online silliness – but from a viral tweet to a conversation inspiring text from her mum – here’s the saga of Suzie Toot from Drag Race potentially being related to the pope.

In a tweet showing the now Pope Leo XIV in his youth, known then as Robert Prevost, the picture shows him meeting John Paul II and looking suspiciously like a certain theatre queen from the latest season. The tweet went viral, and had tagged Suzie Toot directly.

It all got even more chaos when Suzie Toot then quoted the viral one with a text from her mum which reads “Hey we related to the pope”. Or at least that’s what it looks like it says – it’s honestly a bit hard to decipher. You know what mums are like on their phones. My mum and Mama Toot have a lot in common it seems. Although mine is not engaging with a rumour that I’m related to Pope Leo, so.

The replies to the Suzie Toot tweet are chaos and hilarious, as the Drag Race legend duels the related to the pope rumour. And I think people are actually believing that she might actually be. The best reply says “Suzie I know you wanted to win something but infiltrating the papal conclave is a lot.”

On a real though, in case you need to hear it – this is very much probably not true in the slightest. Pope Leo might be an American pope, but he’s from Chicago. Maybe he’s related to Mystique Summers Madison instead.
