Hold on, *two* key moments were cut from the last MAFS Australia commitment ceremony?!
I lowkey feel lied to
Gals, apparently two really big moments were cut from a recent MAFS Australia commitment ceremony. These scenes would have made such a big difference.
Beth Kelly claims that during her couch session with Teejay, the expert John Aiken really slammed Teejay for his behaviour. However, this was toned down a lot in the edit of the episode.
In an interview with Yahoo, Beth said: “John said to Teejay, ‘Beth’s never had a relationship before and her emotional intelligence outweighs yours massively’. I was like, ‘Ooh mic drop!’. That was amazing.
“He also said, ‘Beth is one of the most genuine contestants we’ve ever had on the show’. They were two really great things, they made me feel so good. I wish they played them last night, but sadly they didn’t. That was just a mic drop from John. I loved it.”
On her Instagram story, Beth also revealed the final edit of the commitment ceremony on TV was different to how she remembered it. She said: “At the commitment ceremony, the experts went a lot harder on him. So I think the way it played out last night was actually too gentle.”
I feel so deprived of this moment. Watching John Aiken hold men to account for their behaviour is one of my main joys in life.

Dave Hand also says some key conversations were cut from the recent commitment ceremony. Apparently, Dave explained on couch sessions that he was struggling to deepen his relationship with Jamie because he was focusing on his dad’s battle with cancer. However, this didn’t make the edit. Dave believes he comes across differently on TV as a result of this.
Dave told the Daily Mail Australia: “[My Dad] took a turn and I was really struggling with that but they completely cut that out of the edit so it looks like I did a total backflip on Jamie, but I was communicating my feelings about my dad.
“Watching that back on screen and seeing how they edited it was really difficult for me, because everyone in the experiment knew how much I was struggling, my friends and family knew, but it didn’t come across that was at all, it was just like ‘he’s a terrible person’.”
