We all have a preference when it comes to the Mario Kart girlies – and usually we would go to death for each and every one of them. If you’re not clued up on these vital matters: here’s what you need to know. Princess Peach obviously the original, kind of untouchable in how essential she is. Daisy is almost worth the same amount of salt for the years she’s put in to Mario spin-offs, but she often is the butt of the joke. Rosalina joined the group after she debuted in Super Mario Galaxy and has a lot of fans even though I personally think she’s boring with crap hair. Pauline joined after Mario Odyssey – even though she’s technically older than Peach in terms of Mario history – and is the current It Girl. Then Birdo and Toadette round the whole thing off. Since Mario Kart World got unveiled for the Nintendo Switch 2, the girlies have been viral all over Twitter and the carnage they’ve caused has to be seen to be believed.

Okay, this life changer came out when Super Mario Party Jamboree came out and the girlies were dominating the scene. This tweet was instantly stuff of legend – and it ushered in a new era where Daisy was dragged by the internet at all times. “Let’s all shave our jawlines and not tell Daisy” is rent free at all times. And now Mario Kart World is viral, I don’t think the online conversation would be so centred on the divas if it wasn’t for the legacy of this classic.

The current saga, which Daisy I imagine is quite relieved about because she’s getting no flack, is that Rosalina doesn’t have many outfit changes like the others do in Mario Kart World. Someone has called her ‘bummy’ and they’re basically saying she doesn’t slay. And she does have the worst dress. Sorry, it’s true!
