Exposed: The truly obscene amount of money Carina is spending on MAFS Australia glam

Concealer can cover almost anything, but not cracks in your marriage

MAFS Australia’s Carina Mirabile is perhaps the most fashion-forward cast member in season 12 but being that beautiful comes at a price – and that price is basically an annual salary.

Carina is undoubtedly the most fashion-focused cast member, and though the looks we’ve seen have been largely stunning besides that long-sleeve polo shirt I refuse to talk about, spoilers from down under suggest we’re set for even more high-fashion outfits in the future. It’s a good job too, because if you’re going to spend close to thousands on outfits, makeup, and hair, you might as well show it off.

MAFS Australia’s Carina said she spent around $15k on clothing alone

In a TikTok with her hair stylist Jacob Muller, Carina revealed how production does not front the cost of outfits, but then again, why would they? The cast members are there to find love, not play a game of who wore it best.

“I’ve always wanted to be outside the box,” Carina said in the video. “From the styling point of view. Production doesn’t give you any allocation money, or reimbursement to purchase your own outfits… I’ve probably spent 12 grand – 12 to 15 grand on outfits all throughout the season.”

But she saved some money by doing her own makeup, right? Nah.

She spent a further $1,500 a week on makeup and hair

Speaking to Yahoo, Jacob Muller revealed how Carina would splash up to $1,500 A WEEK on makeup and hair for the dramatic dinner parties.

“Carina invested around $1,000–$1,500 per week on hair and makeup for the dinner parties. Both Vincent [Phan] and I had to block out significant time to work on the show, which meant turning down our regular day-to-day clients,” he told the publication.

“This was a big commitment, as we had to be flexible with last-minute call times and dedicate ourselves fully to creating these looks. For me personally, I even had to step away from taking hair colour bookings during that time, as the unpredictability of the schedule meant I needed to be ready to go at a moment’s notice.”

Reality TV stars spending huge amounts of money for their shows is nothing particularly new, but at least when it comes to the likes of RuPaul’s Drag Race, that money can actually make a difference. All the eyeliner in the world is not going to save your marriage.

Still, Jacob believes it’s worth it: “I absolutely think it was worth it. If I were appearing on a nationally broadcast TV show, I’d want to feel my absolute best, and glam plays a huge role in that. Hair and makeup are not just about looking good—it’s about confidence, presence, and feeling put together. When you look good, you carry yourself differently, and that’s especially important in a high-pressure environment like MAFS.”

The amount of money Carina spent on MAFS Australia is – drum roll please – somewhere around $27k!

Carina might be the only cast member who booked glam teams

Elsewhere in the interview, Jacob touched on the other season 12 cast members and which ones he thinks are splashing the cash on glamorous outfits and sparkly cut creases.

“From what I could see, most of the cast kept things quite natural—maybe just a quick blow-dry at a local salon. But glam is a personal choice!” he said.

“Some people see it as an essential part of their identity, while others take a more relaxed approach. Because I’ve worked on TV shows before, I understand what makes an on-screen look elevated — it’s about more than just looking good in person; it’s about making an impact on camera.”
