This MAFS Aus wedding was delayed because a bush fire broke out and it was a ‘total mess’

The blaze quickly got out of control

We’ve now been introduced to another MAFS bride and groom, Rhi and Jeff, and realising they already knew each other wasn’t their only wedding drama.

The couple, who already dated for around a month in 2023, had to delay their ceremony because a massive bush fire broke out right near the venue.

They tied the knot in a beautiful national park called Middle Head which overlooks Sydney Harbour, but the whole thing was total chaos.

A production insider told Yahoo Lifestyle: “The ceremony had to be delayed and everyone was in a panic.”

“Guests were coughing and the bride’s limo had to circle around for over an hour. They couldn’t even get the limo through because fire engines were blocking the road.”

They said things quickly got “out of control” as the flames grew bigger and bigger and producers were getting really “worried”.

“No one was quite sure what was happening. Producers were overheard asking one another, ‘What are we going to do?’ It was a total mess.”

Thankfully, the ceremony only had to be delayed by 90 minutes, and Rhi walked down the aisle as planned after they got the blaze under control.

After all that, the last thing the couple probably expected was to be matched with someone they’ve already dated in the past.

“Hey, Rhi,” he said as she walked up the aisle. After standing there for a second in complete disbelief, she replied: “Hey Jeff.”

“She just came out of a long-term relationship, and I just came out of a relationship,” the groom explained to the cameras.

They both decided they were better off being single, but stayed good friends, meeting up for coffee and running a half marathon together.

After surviving two major shocks in one day, I really hope these two work out.
