The Lumon doctor in Severance was spotted in the flashback, evolving this WILD theory
Nobody is thinking the water droplet in the Lumon logo is water anymore!
Well, let’s face it – last week’s episode of Severance season two was so utterly life changing, game changing, tear jerking and answer giving pieces of television you could ever witness. We got so many concrete resolutions to mysteries tracking back to the very start of the show that Severance will never be the same again going forward. It’s all very exciting, and at the centre of it is the character of Dr Mauer – spotted twice – and how he might shift the theory about the Lumon logo permanently. Here’s how the Lumon doctor in Severance changed the theory about what the sinister company is up to for good.
Dr Mauer is experimenting on Gemma
What we learned from that most recent episode of Severance is that Gemma is of course not dead, not even cloned like most of us thought. Instead, Gemma is severed. Over and over again, for various experiments that Lumon are doing on her. These include Gemma getting severed to have dental work, and to sign thank you notes over and over again. It’s very jarring – and at the centre of it is the sinister Dr Mauer.
One easter egg in the episode though is that Lumon doctor Mauer was spotted in the flashback to the blood donation clinic, where we see Gemma and Mark meet – and it changes a major Severance theory. Up until now, people thought the drop of liquid in the Lumon logo was water, or a teardrop. But because he was spotted in the blood clinic, it’s now being theorised on the Severance Reddit that Lumon are working with blood.
Gemma also got her blood taken on the floor where she’s trapped being experimented on.

One person over on the Reddit pointed out how “en Stiller on some pod said: ‘Oh Apple(the company) wouldn’t make a Severance chip. They aren’t a med tech company.’ And I guess that should have been self explanatory.”
Hopefully we found out even more evidence when the new ep drops this week!
