A deepdive into Maura and Danny’s close friendship in the jungle after Brits ‘kiss’ scandal

After a scandalous night at the 2025 Brits, Danny Jones and Maura Higgins found themselves at the centre of trouble online. Many people were shocked as a video leaked signs of what appeared to be Danny and Maura sharing a kiss at a Brits after party, although it still hasn’t been confirmed as true.

Any romantic connection really wouldn’t be that shocking after they spent three weeks in close quarters in the Australian jungle, however, Danny is happily married to Georgia Horsley and has been for the last 10 years.

Both stars competed in I’m A Celeb – Maura made it far, but Danny actually took home the jungle crown. Here are all the signs that we might have missed that Danny and Maura had a special bond in the jungle.

This couldn’t be solid evidence that anything was brewing between them, given that the jungle days were boring most of the time. However, they definitely had more banter than most (not more than the reverend, though). In one moment, Maura asked Danny if he would sign her if he ever set up a record label, and he immediately shut her down with a “no.” They laughed and took the piss out of each other very frequently.

One TikTok user has been suspicious of Maura and Danny’s friendship since I’m A Celeb aired back in November 2024. She replied to a comment which read “Anyone else noticed the way Danny looks at Maura.” While he does give her an affectionate glance, it’s not necessarily a look of love, is it?

Danny seemed to enjoy hearing about Maura’s scandalous revenge on an ex who cheated on her. After she explained she put his toothbrush into a toilet as revenge after finding messages on his phone, Danny responded with “you don’t want to mess with Maura.”

Most people might be scared off by that, but Danny was actually quite impressed.

Maura was very impressed with Danny at camp karaoke

Maura was very noticeably impressed with Danny’s vocal abilities during camp karaoke in the jungle. She showed just how big of a McFly fan she was while she was singing and dancing along with the rest of her campmates.

Danny helped Maura feel more confident after she got upset in the jungle

There was a moment in the jungle when Maura was feeling quite low after not having her makeup for a few weeks, and Jane Moore and Richard were there to support her.

“If I was heterosexual, I’d be kneeling before you with a bunch of roses,” said the reverend which was just one of the reasons he was such a fan favourite. Danny chimed in, “that was romantic wasn’t it?” and the camp laughed. It was endearing to see the campmates looking out for each other during tough times.

Neither Danny or Maura have publicly commented on the kiss allegations. The Tab has reached out to Danny and Maura for comment.
