Dumped Islander passionately defends Elma and claims she’s actually a big ‘sweetheart’

Everyone is fuming after Ronnie and Harriett were dumped from Love Island, not Sammy and Elma, but it sounds like we’re not seeing the full picture.

On TV, Elma has been painted out as this season’s biggest villain, talking down to people and always starting unnecessary drama for no reason.

However, dumped Islander Chuggs has claimed she’s actually one of the nicest people in the villa and has just been severely misunderstood.

He was asked why he didn’t vote for Sammy and Elma to be dumped when he returned to the villa and explained his reasoning on TikTok.

“I feel like Elma’s had a really bad rap recently. What you guys don’t see is that she’s the first one to help anyone with anything in the villa,” he said.

“She’s always there to listen to you and give advice. She’s also the one that does all the washing, does all the dishes for everyone at lunch and dinner.”

Chuggs said we’re “only seeing her fiery moments” and “she is a fiery person” but that’s “part of what makes her great”.

“You’re just seeing her clash a lot at the moment and I think it’s not a fair reflection of her character because she’s so much more than that.”

He described Elma as “so lovely” and said she’ll be “very upset” to see that only the worst side of her personality has been shown on TV.

“Elma’s a sweetheart, so that is why I didn’t vote for her,” he concluded. However, it’s Gabby and Casey who he’s rooting for to win.

It comes after ex-Islander Francesa Allen, who is friends with Elma, also defended her friend online last week.

“The people closest to her will know and understand this,” she added before begging people to “be a little kinder online” and stop sharing so much hate.
