Trump just made a shockingly insensitive joke about visiting the DC plane crash site
A reporter asked if the President is planning to go there
At least 29 bodies have now been recovered after an American Airlines plane carrying 64 passengers collided with a US Army Black Hawk helicopter.
Flight 5342 was en route from Wichita, Kansas to Washington, DC when it crashed over the Potomac Rover and sadly, no survivors have been found.
Donald Trump was called out for his bizarre first response, instantly questioning what really happened rather than paying his respects to the victims.
Now, it’s got even worse as the new President, who was only sworn in just over a week ago, has made an insensitive joke about visiting the crash site.
When asked by a reporter if he has plans to visit the Potomac River, he joked that he can’t go to the actual site because the aircraft is in water.
“I have a plan to visit, not the site. Because what, you tell me. What’s the site? Water. We’re going to go swimming?” he said.
However, the reporter clearly didn’t mean the actual crash site – they were referring to Trump visiting the surrounding areas near Reagan Airport.
All 64 people on the plane and three on the helicopter are believed to have died, so it’s certainly not the time to make a joke.

After the incident happened, Trump’s initial response raised some concerning questions about what actually happened.
“The airplane was on a perfect and routine lineup of approach to the airport. The helicopter was going straight at the airplane for an extended period of time,” he wrote.
“It is a CLEAR NIGHT, the lights on the plane were blazing, why didn’t the helicopter go up or down, or turn?”

“Why didn’t the control tower tell the helicopter what to do instead of asking if they saw the plane? This is a bad situation that looks like it should have been prevented.”
He ended the post by writing: “NOT GOOD!!!”
