MrBeast excitedly announces he’s made an official cash offer to buy TikTok

TikTok was banned in America for less than 24 hours on Sunday before being reinstated by President Trump, but the future of the app is still up in the air as it still isn’t available to download in the app store in the US. However, it seems everyone’s favourite insanely wealthy YouTuber might be coming to the rescue as MrBeast announced he’s made an official offer to buy TikTok.

Last week, MrBeast jokingly announced his plans to buy the app, tweeting: “Okay fine, I’ll buy TikTok so it doesn’t get banned.”

Later on in the day he shared a promising update, saying: “Unironically I’ve had so many billionaires reach out to me since I tweeted this, let’s see if we can pull this off.”

It’s been fairly radio silence from MrBeast since his last announcement, but now it seems he really wasn’t joking about trying to buy TikTok and announced he’d made a cash offer alongside an investor group.

On January 21, 2025, the Paul Hastings Law Firm shared a blog post stating they’re advising a “syndicate of investors” in a 100 per cent cash offer for TikTok’s US operations and “various assets” from ByteDance.

The law firm revealed the the investor group comprises of “institutional investors” and “high-net-worth individuals” which includes MrBeast.

MrBeast revealed more about the plan in a tweet, writing: “The leading groups who are all credible bidding on Tik Tok have reached out for us to help them, I’m excited to partner/make this a reality. Big things cooking.”

If MrBeast really does buy TikTok it’d probably be one of the wildest things any YouTuber has ever done, and whilst ByteDance has not yet responded to the offer all we can do is wait and see.
