Hold on, which celebrities have houses near the new Los Angeles fires?

Sadly, two new fires have broken out in the Los Angeles area. One of them has already spread to a huge 10,000 acres in a matter of hours. Here’s an explanation of where the new LA fires actually are, and how close they are to the houses of famous celebrities.

The Sepulveda Fire

This wildfire began late at night on Wednesday 22nd January. It started near North Sepulveda Boulevard, and is extremely close to the spenny, celeb-filled areas of Bel-Air and Beverly Hills.

People who live in Bel-Air were given orders to evacuate on Wednesday night. Loads of celebrities live in this area. Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lawrence, Jennifer Aniston and Ellen DeGeneres reportedly all own houses in Bel-Air.

The evacuation order in Bel-Air was lifted early on Thursday morning.

The Sepulveda Fire is also pretty close to Beverly Hills. Justin and Hailey Bieber, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, Leonardo DiCaprio all reportedly live around here. Although the Sepulveda Fire spread rapidly to 40 acres last night, the California Fire Department’s website says their firefighters have stopped the fire from spreading beyond 40 acres, so these celebs’ houses should be safe for now.

This fire started on Wednesday and quickly spread to 10,000 acres. For context, that’s about 6,250 times the size of a football pitches, or 400 times the size of the Love Island: All Stars villa. The Hughes Fire is near Castaic Lake, a huge reservoir next to the city Santa Clarita. It’s north of the giant Pacific Palisades fire.

Just over 30,000 people have been ordered to evacuate, and 21,000 more people have been warned they might have to evacuate on short notice.

The Hughes Fire is in a more rural area then some of the other LA wildfires, so we don’t know of any big celebrities who live near it.
