The cast salaries of Netflix’s Carry On are huge – but Taron Egerton wasn’t the highest-paid
The Netflix film had a budget of £37 million
Despite being the leading star and featuring in considerably more screentime, Taron Egerton might not have been paid as much as Jason Bateman in Netflix’s Carry On.
The Christmas thriller was added to Netflix earlier this month and has since gone on to dominate both the chart and Twitter conversations. It currently sits with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 86 per cent and an audience rating of 56 per cent, clearly showing how divided viewers are when it comes to the Die Hard-esque action flick.
The film, which boasts its fair share of mistakes, had a budget of $ 47 million (£37 million). But for the chunky budget and lavish LAX set, how much were its stars paid?
Taron Egerton was reportedly paid $1 million for Netflix’s Carry On
According to Showbiz Galore, which specialises in net worth and proposed salaries of celebrities, Taron Egerton was paid a cushy $1 million for his role as the leading star.
For comparison, it looks like he was paid $5 million for Rocketman and $300,000 for his role in Sing. Unfortunately, projected figures for his Kingsmen earnings are not readily available.
Jason Bateman was the highest-paid actor
Meanwhile, despite appearing in considerably less of the film, Jason Bateman was allegedly paid a whopping $3 million. Though that’s quite the jump, it’s not particularly surprising when you consider how long Jason has been working in Hollywood, appearing in everything from Horrible Bosses to Zootopia.

Jason is used to making bank on his projects, with one of his most lucrative jobs being Arrested Development, where he was paid $125,000 per episode across the show’s 84 episodes. That’s over $10 million, in case the maths was stumping you. The actor earned considerably more in Netflix’s Ozark, banking $300,000 per episode across four seasons and 44 episodes.
Now, what of Carry On’s supporting cast?
Sofia Carson, who plays Taron’s girlfriend Nora Parisi in the Netflix film, was reportedly paid $300,000 for her role, while Agent Alcott actor Logan Marshall-Green received $200,000. Danielle Deadwyler, who played Elena Cole, was paid $110,000.
According to Showbiz Galore, the least-paid stars were Theo Rossi as Watcher and Dean Norris as Phil Sarkowski as they both received $80,000.
