In an unexpected turn of events, the UnitedHealthcare CEO suspect Luigi Mangione has become a viral meme – and it’s gone too far.

The 26-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Brian Thompson, who was shot dead in New York City on 4 December.

He was taken into custody on Monday at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania after a customer at the fast food chain recognised him.

Mangione appeared in a Pennsylvania court and was charged with murder and four other counts including firearms charges, the BBC reports.

The Ivy League graduate was found with a gun and a handwritten note that police said indicated “motivation and mindset”.

Photos of the suspect have now gone viral online and people were quick to point out one thing – his good looks.

He has dark curly hair, groomed eyebrows, chiselled cheekbones and a bright, white smile, which came as a big surprise.

The suspect has now become a meme, with one person writing: “He’s hot, bisexual and Italian?! Luigi Mangione got the full package.”

“Your honor, my client Luigi Mangione is innocent. He was just demonstrating the true power of having ‘looks that could kill’. The only thing criminal is his bone structure,” said another.

A third person added: “The manhunt has now ended with investigators declaring ‘too hot to convict’.”
