Police appeal for witnesses after woman killed in crash near University of Warwick campus
An elderly woman was hit by a car last Thursday
Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly woman was hit and killed by a car on Thursday 21st November.
The woman died following a collision with a car on Cryfield Grange Road in between Kenilworth and the University of Warwick Campus.
Officers are now looking for anyone who witnessed the incident, including drivers who may have dashcam footage, Coventry Live reports.
Emergency services raced to the scene at around 1.30pm on Thursday, with an air ambulance also being scrambled nearby.
The incident involved two cars, with the driver of one car suffering only minor injuries. The woman, who has not been publicly identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, despite emergency services’ prompt response times.
Cryfield Grange Lane was closed for several hours as collision police investigators examined the scene.
Warwickshire Police issued an appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage, requesting anyone who spotted the vehicles before the accident to come forward. In a statement, they said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the woman, who are currently being supported by specially trained officers.’
“We’re appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time to contact us, especially if they have dashcam footage.”
The police have urged anyone with information about the collision to call Warwickshire Police at 101, mentioning incident number 257 of November 21st 2024.
