Here’s how you can get involved with University of Lincoln’s Grace’s Week 2024
The week is in memory of Lincoln graduate, Grace Millane, who was murdered in New Zealand in 2018
Grace’s Week is taking part at the University of Lincoln later this month.
Grace Millane was a University of Lincoln graduate who was tragically murdered in New Zealand in 2018. She was a member of the University of Lincoln’s Hockey Club and every year, the society come together to honour her memory.
With other sports and societies at the University of Lincoln, ULHC is raising money between Sunday 24th November and Sunday 1st December to support Love Grace UK, White Ribbon UK, and EDAN Lincs.
Here is a list of every way you can get involved in Grace’s Week:
Sunday
The week kicks off with Dodgeball. You’ll be able to see them between 3:15 and 5:05pm at the Sports Centre.
Monday
On Monday, have a go at a new sport with open Hockey on the uni pitch between 5:30 and 6:30pm.
Tuesday
There are a lot of different events happening on Tuesday.
There will be an open Squash session at the Sports Centre between 5pm and 8pm.
Also on Tuesday is the opportunity to put those art skills to the test. Swift Soc is hosting a cupcake and cookie decorating fundraiser from 6:30pm. You can find the event in MB0302.
And finally, why not settle down for a film night in NDH0020 at 6pm with the Lincoln Pharmacy Society? Tickets cost £2 at the door.
Wednesday
Lincoln Jets Cheer will be performing at halftime during the hockey match on 27th November. The match starts at 5pm, with the cheer performance starting at 5:30pm.
Most Read
Also on Wednesday is the Pride Society’s “Not Quite Christmas Café Social”. They will be at the CBD Coffee Lounge all afternoon, from 2pm to 6pm. Why not head down for a hot chocolate?
The Climbing Society will also be having a relay race in The Showroom at 6pm.
Thursday
For those who enjoy crafts, why not check out the UoL Feminist Society’s Paint and Sip Fundraiser? Hosted upstairs at Be At One between 7:30pm and 10:30pm, wooden items and glasses will be available for you to paint.
Dance will also be hosting a performance between 6pm and 6:45pm at Evoke Dance Studio, followed by Basketball at the Sports Centre between 7pm and 7:50pm.
And finally, there will be a swimathon between 8pm and 10pm. Please note, this is a closed session.
Friday
Missed out on Paint and Sip? No worries. The fundraiser returns for a second day on Friday in case you couldn’t get tickets for Thursday. Same place, same time, different day.
Before that is the University of Lincoln’s Lacrosse Match. This event can be found on the uni pitch between 5:30pm and 6:30pm.
You can also find football at the second uni pitch between 6:30pm and 7:30pm.
Saturday
Busy throughout the week? It’s okay, there’s plenty of ways to get involved on Saturday.
With bakes by the Lincoln Law Society, there will be a Coffee Morning between 10am and 12pm in the Swan. Head down and get yourself a sweet treat whilst helping make a difference.
Hockey will be playing from 1pm until 4pm on the university pitch. They ask that as many people as possible come and support them on the day.
Hockey will also be having a quiz at Walkabout at 7pm. This is a society only event.
Sunday
The week comes to an end with a rounders match on the uni pitch between 11:30 and 1:20pm.
On Thursday 21st November, the Feminist Society will be hosting an information session about Grace’s Week. The talk starts at 6pm in MB1009.
