Forget the library, try these seven underrated study spots in Liverpool instead

Because we can’t function without a cute little coffee, apparently

| UPDATED

The Sydney Jones and Harold Cohen might seem like the obvious choices to get some revision done, but Liverpool is full of other places that are perfect for studying. Check out these six spots to go for your next study date.

Liverpool Central Library

An absolute must visit for literature-lovers, but also a fantastic spot to hit the books, especially in the Picton Reading Room (are we sure this isn’t somewhere out of Hogwarts?). Not only is it free, but it’s also open 11 hours a day, six days a week, so plenty of time to meet those deadlines.

92 Degrees Coffee

Just a stone’s throw away from campus, this is the perfect place to study whilst also getting your caffeine fix. The staff are lovely, it’s always a very relaxed atmosphere, and they also have memberships available so you don’t have to splash the cash every time you fancy a coffee.

Bertie & Bella’s

The brand new campus cafe and restaurant is the perfect place to set up for a day of study. You’ll find them located just opposite the South Campus Teaching Hub. And if you get peckish, there’s lots of food options to choose from too!

Bean Coffee Roasters

Located on College Street in Liverpool One, this is the perfect spot for studying with friends. The top floor has a dedicated co-working space where you are free to spend as much time as you please whilst also enjoying a drink or a sweet treat if your student loan has just dropped!

The Courtyard in The Guild

An oldie but goldie, The Courtyard is a perfect place to go in between lectures to get some work done, particularly if you don’t want to face the daunting silence in the Sydney Jones or Harold Cohen. And after you’re finished, you can of course move on to The Sphinx to have for a post-uni pint.

Black Cat Bar & Bottleshop

Everyone knows that Black Cat is one of the best places in Smithdown to go for a couple of bevvies in the evening, but did you know also know that they are also open from 9am everyday during term time serving hot drinks and baked goods? A study spot that’s too good to gatekeep… especially when they offer unlimited refills for £6!

NOMAD

Perfect for all of the students in Smithdown who don’t fancy trekking all the way onto campus, this coffee shop is on Smithdown Road and is always bustling with busy students. Plus you get to feel good by supporting an independent business!

Union Brew

This brand new offering right next to The Guild is a perfect pit-stop in between lectures to grab a sweet treat and a hot drink. For all the seasonal drink lovers, there’s a themed coffee for nearly every holiday, and it’s right next to the 699 stop if you’re looking for something on the go.
